    Musical Instruments

By the east-facing window in the bedroom, I keep a Fender Champ tube (valve) amp and a Hofner Verithin at the ready. By virtue of lots of trees, the light is not overly intense, so this is what I see almost every morning upon awakening:

    Musical Instruments

Panasonic 12MP Lumix DMC-G1 with 14-45mm kit lens.

Took this hand-held shot a little later, after breakfast, so I confess to reddening it slightly to turn the clock back, so to speak. It took a huge amount of detail contrast/sharpening to bring out the curtain patterns - hence that blinding halo on the head at top left . This in spite of 10X manual focusing-by-wire on the G1, so I must have moved . .

Shot somewhat inspired by recent minimalist posts . .

Looking forward to C&C and musical instrument posts by others

You seem to have got the texture of the curtains well. I feel the need to see more of the guitar now. I like the simplicity of the image.

I like the fact that you can play a guitar...it is a bring-anywhere instrument...I like the fabric of your curtain...

Err...uhm...your title said "...instruments" with an 's'. Does this mean you have more musical instruments to share with us? 'Wish I can hear you play that guitar... The internet from here to your place seems to be quiet.

Very nice and very well planned. Like Tony I would perhaps like to see a smidgeon of detail in the guitar.

    Thanks All,

Izzie, plural "instruments" was a bit like the thread "Insects" hoping for contributions from other members; time for you to dig out the didgeridoo

As to detail on the guitar head, the intention was to have it pure backlit, as I see it when I wake up.

Here's a snap of the head detail, taken when new:

    Musical Instruments

My first guitar was a Hofner Congress back in '56. So, recently, I went back in time and bought this one - a Verithin model. Cognoscenti will note that I am left-handed.

If this "Instruments" thread continues I'll post another shot or two . . .

Now this means I will want to take a shot of my two pianos in this house...one an old one and the other my digital one and share it too. Thanks for clearing up that misunderstanding. I thought this is a singular post by you alone and only up to critiques and comments.

Excellent! Arty-crafty? The classic wide-angle "along the keyboard" shot, in perfect focus from front to back for example? I'm thinking that wide-angle might suit piano shots . . .YMMV though.
