    Hi Rob

The picture is great. The scene is amazing, and the contrast is great! Though I would have moved the camera a bit, so the tree on the left wasn't in the frame. Overall a great scene :-)

Nicely framed and captured. Have to agree with Kaare re the LHS tree removal. However I don't think it would be as simple as relocating the camera or yourself without losing much of the impact of the angle of your framed shot. Probably the clone tool would be more work but more appropriate.
My wife did Pompeii many years ago and so your shots bought back many memories of going through her photos. The point I am heading towards is that I would like to have seen your posts in colour. This is one instance when I reckon they would tell a better story than B&W, especially in #2. But that, of course, is only my opinion.

    Re: Pompeii

    Hi Ken,

Below are the original colour images with only colour correction and basic sharpening applied.

I would be keen to know if you still like the colour versions over the B&W

For a bit of context, it was the middle of the day and it was about 38 degrees. The wife had a bit of heat stress after climbing up Vesuvius in the morning and wasn't too keen on hanging about. I grabbed a few quick snaps but didn't really get chance to take any well considered images.
I would love to back on a cooler day with a more enthusiastic wife.
