    I like the idea, Brian.

On my computer, the bud appears to be tinted pink; also the background is slightly posterized and is not gray.

Were you aiming for an impression of depth with that focusing/aperture?

I am seeing the pink as well. The detail on the rose is nice.

There's a thread going on at present Brian that's highlighting the recent site problems and this has been raised a number of times already. If you are using a PC/laptop with a Chrome Browser Binnur came up with a quick solution to 'enlarge' the image, ctrl and + (and then ctrl and - to reduce).

Problems on this site and from our server so one answer for all. it was late last night when I posted and i seem to have included just a smidgen too much red. Hope they fix the on-sight problems soon.

No problem with the image as-such, Brian, the tinting is appropriate I thought. But the pedant in me read the title, too ;-)

Just for information, "Show Image" displays the hues in your shot like this:

    Rose bud. Black & white

This is a display that shows the colors and their counts in a histogram. Looks like you may let the GIMP loose on your poor un-suspecting image ;-)

Fear not, Brian, with 8-bit images, darkening down a fairly smooth background will do that. Happens in my FastStone Viewer too.

Ha ha, less colors mean difficult PP with playing the tones of grey Brian BTW the pink tint doesn't bother me at all , I find it very creative. You can use any kind of tint in BnW images as long as you like it. That's why the tint options are available in BnW editing softwares
