    Yes, my shot. I posted it last month some time and this thread reminded me it was in my albums here. It was a little of both. I sometimes go out to the perimeter of my local airport. There is a fair amount of undeveloped land around it with paved roads. That makes it ideal for spending a short time seeing what's happening. The shrikes live in the brazilian pepper bushes along one road. The barbed wire is the perimeter fence.

    This particular shrike was one of several in the area I was watching and it happened to use the wire for his prey.

    Here is another in a more natural surrounding.
