"Kaleidoscope Imperfect "or "Through the bottom of a glass"

I was at a loose end earlier today and it all began with a glass, ... this glass....

"Kaleidoscope Imperfect "or "Through the bottom of a glass"

Remember when we used to hold glasses up and look through them, as children, to see what the world looked like?
Well, if you don't ....this is what happens...

I just love those curiously weird internal reflections. And not a drop taken..... I swear, not a drop was drunk from the glass.... this time.....

Nice! There's a lot of fun to be had with reflections and refractions.

I don't mind Islay whisky either. (My spell checker wanted me to put an "e" in whisky - yuk.)

    Great colours in No.6

Wonder if one could use a lens if it was off the body and backlit? Hmmm.

Thank you all. It was a bit of fun. Equipment 1) a dark kitchen and conservatory 2) Strings of fairy lights lit up in the conservatory (I love them ), 3) the glass (of course), and 4) my camera.

I literally did do the kids thing and held the glass in front of the lens and played around with focus until I had the shots I wanted.

Took about 15 minutes, was fun, not too serious and definately impulsive, which is an approach I want to develop more. My wife's face was a picture and she made the mistake of asking what I was doing.......
