Hi Brian,
This is a VERY tough shot for your camera to handle; backlit, overexposed, high contrast, jpg capture.
I'd suggest a stop or two less exposure if re shooting with this situation.
PS I hope you threw the stick after making Cooper wait!

I sure enough did. At twelve years old he has lost the zap of youth but he still loves to trot after whatever is thrown. The shot was taken on auto with a little tweaking afterwards. I am thinking you are saying it could have been left a little softer?
