As usual Colin, outstanding images of a stunning young lady.
Love No 1 especially.
As already has been said, all are excellent. The third is the best for me. Lovely daughter, you must be very proud.
Sorry to disagree with my portraiture guru but #1 is deff the best...
are these taken with you lite on a stick with the voa?
Hi Colin,
Each one is special in it's own way and I'm sure anyone who has a daughter can feel the emotion in (poor?) Jessica's face
Cheers,
Very nice! Beautiful eyes.
I like #2 & #3 the best. #1 is a bit to “adult” for this conservative mother of a daughter.
Crocodiles. . . taming? CiC’s very own Crocodile Colin.
Hmmm—is that what IT managers who work @ Butterfly Creek in NZ do, given that crocks do not exist there in the wild?![]()
I really like the third photo, she looks so relaxed.
Great composition!!

Lovely. Did you use other source of light different than natural light?
Thanks for your answer.
Its a joy to see them, all smoth without unwanted shadows. Of course I know you are a master.
There nothing I can add except #2 and #3 for me.
I love the color in the background of #2 that compliments her dress and the sweet gentle look in her eyes
The vignette in #1 doesn't work for me very well.
All excellent images![]()
Thanks Folks,
@ Catalina - it's a combination of warm end-of-day light and flashes (with orange gels over them) firing into a softbox.
@ Brian - yeah, it is one of my stronger vignettes. I normally use them to imply a bit more direction/isolation to the lighting.
Your daughter is lovely, Colin!
The photos are great as well.
I really like the lighting on the third.
Please tell her that some lady from America really likes her dress, purple is my favorite color.![]()
She is so precious. Treasure every moment spent with her...before you know it she will be all grown up. Then....she will marry the dumbest boy on earth (in your opinion) and somehow they will have the most amazing, smartest, most beautiful grandchildren that were ever born (according to you as grandpa)![]()
So nice to be able to take the kids out and shoot them isn't it.
