All creatures great and small are fascinating creations in their own way! ( Even if we don't quite relate to them )

I'm continuously impressed with the detail and closeness of your the macro photography here. Were you close, or did you crop? It looks like you used a flash which would lead me to think you were farther back?

Cheers Nick, this image was shot at 1-1 mag, so yes quite close, there is a slight crop, more to straighten the image than anything else and yes diffused flash was used, but to freeze the action rather than being farther back!

    Cheers David

Nice capture, my friend....as usual your macros are superb, just like this one. I was trying to look for aliens but I failed. haha...but the bubble and the John's link and Daniel's explanation are both interesting too excuses for the bubble too. Excuses because we don't really know, do we?

I was almost dead when we came home from Chicago yesterday so I woke up very early this morning to go to the forum to look-see on what you are up to . No pictures from there even though I had lots of opportunities because I wasn't able to bring my camera with me. I ended up buying a brand new leather London Fog carry-on bag for my next trip to Tennessee and Australia that will carry all my stuffs. Half price so I was happy. Course is doing very well...Too much to absorb with this little brain so I entertain myself trying to look for aliens in your shot but didn't find any. What a disappointment but hey! that thingie bubble spouting fly looks good that I have to google what and if it is a different kind of fly specie...that is what I like about some of your posts -- it stirs me to referenced something to know the answer to my stupid question if I have any. It is a great learning experience. Thanks mate...I was only able tackle page one of the new posts as I was really tired...I will try to make up for it...love your posts as always...

I will forgive you this once just do not let it happen again I understand not taking any shots, I was the same on my recent trip to Scotland, sometimes the other things in life take over then again it helps if you take your camera with you

I'm glad the course is going well, looking forward to all the wonderful images you are going to produce ( no pressure then )

    Keep looking for the Aliens
