Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

    La Quinta Hotel

My idea of an image with a semi-painterly type of effect added to it.

Do you know what immediately came to mind when I saw this Willie? Edward Hopper's paintings. You've pulled this off very well!

It does have that Hopper painterly quality to it...nicely textured.

Thanks, Raylee. I googled Edward Hopper's work and I was really amazed. His paintings are simple and yet have a very definite character and subtle lighting to it. Thank you if I this image reminded you of his work.

More like late afternoon actually, John. I think I shot this around 4:30PM something.

Thanks, Chris. Playing around with some plugins and learning how to use textures right now.

Very nice, Jiro! I love the effect -- and maybe LaQuinta would like to use it as advertising -- The Hopper connection is right on, I think --

I am very glad you like it, Elise. I know that your textured images are quite fascinating and beauty to the eyes here at CiC! I am not pretty sure about showing this to the hotel staff. I'm not fond of promoting my work or myself when it comes to my work. Still, a lot of things to polish up and work on before I could probably be able to sell even a single image!

Well, you never know how they might react -- aren't there issues around having releases for commercial buildings? I don't know. I just think you did a great job.

Not possible, Yegor. I can't even draw an acceptable straight line with my arthritic hands! This painterly effect was achieved using the basic filter effects in photoshop and some plugin. Thanks for the comment, Yegor.

    Re: La Quinta Hotel

Nice treatment Jiro. I do like seeing building photographs processed in this way. I have found that you can even forgo the textures if you get in close. Just a little heavier than usual manipulation of the tonal curve can do the trick

    La Quinta Hotel
