Thread: Other Photographers

    Other Photographers

Whenever I'm out with a camera, and I spot another photographer, I can't resist taking a shot of them !

This was one evening while I was strolling below the sea wall near Portsmouth harbour.

Up on top was someone with a far more serious piece of glass (green with envy ).

I had to shield mine with my trusty old flat-cap to avoid too much sun flare, but decided to let the harsh backlight burn out all the detail.

Anyway, that's the story behind this image.

I recently got a Gold Seal for it in a photo competition, under the title
    Waiting for the Light

Very nice silhouettes, especially the geometrics of the lamp posts. Be nice if the photographer was at a little better angle to more readily see what he is and is up to. Your light angle, flare and then darkening sky works nicely, but I might crop inside the little lamp post. I feel that end steals the eye away to no real satisfaction. You will probably still have enough of that nifty cloud to get its benefits. Nice spot with difficult light. -em

Not a great photo, just a snap, but it suits the theme and was shot just last Sunday:

But Dave at least you know which way round the camera goes and I love the little coat that keeps his lens warm it even matches the coat and trousers his mum made for him out of the old curtains from the spare room.

Very few photographers roaming around the area right now. Above photo taken Los Angeles last fall.

Thanks for your support (I shall wear it always .........) in this thread Guys and Guyettes.
I have always found recording the act of taking a photograph, either of others or ones self, to be a fascinating subject.

    Great shots everyone !

Love the composition of your self-portrait (Image #1), but I think you've over processed the eye a bit. It looks like a glass eye. Maybe that's your intent. I'd soften it to look well focused, but real. ?

I agree. Early days with a DSLR when this was taken and my over zealousness with the PP is showing

This one is from the same era but without any eye sharphening
