    C&C on this series please.

    I know sunsets have been done to death but this was the first outing of mine to specifically shoot one. The first day of this new year coming to a close.

    The things I like.....the colors, the DOF, focus.
    The things I had some trouble with.....slightly blown sun, and noise
    These go in order as the sky changed color. Other than C&C I hope you enjoy.
    Thank you in advance. =}

    Just because others might have done them it doesn’t mean you cannot and enjoy them. I shoot many topics but I have a file for Sky shots including sunrises (not many of the – too early for me), sunsets, cloudscapes, etc.

    A great series and it just shows the value of being patient and enjoying the moment.

    Great colours. Well done.

    Love the way you framed the focus in the last one, and like the colours of the 2nd one.

    Like #3 & #4 a lot. Lovely hues. I don't know its my monitor or what, but I find the last one a li'l over-saturated.

    Thanks for the feedback everyone. Sahil, that I have wrestled with in my mind, not because it is but because it looks to be. The colors of the sky and water were what I was seeing if not a little on the lighter side. It was quite unreal looking.

    Hi, Paul! and, welcome to CiC!

    These are just so extremely beautiful! I love #2 and #3 the best. I grew up in Southern California but my family would take trips to the Seattle and Puget Sound area and, then, on the ferry, into Victoria, B.C. I love it there! My parents finally bought a piece of land on a small island right near the Deception Pass. (It used to be the hideout of an old pirate smuggler - Ben Ure.) My husband and I even went there for our honeymoon. This makes me miss it terribly!

    I was kind of thinking along the same lines. My uncle had a resort on the Puget Sound just above Union, WA where I spent several summers. Also, my brother lives on San Juan Island. I've spent many a day riding the ferries to each of the islands. Beautiful country up there and this last sunset is a prime example of them.

    Thank you Katy, I hope you can make it back sometime soon. The area you speak of is directly on the otherside of the hills in the focal point. This was taken from North across the bay from Anacortes. =} The Deception Pass area is one of my favorite spots in Washington, so you will likely see much more of that area come spring time. =}

    Next time you get to Anacortes, look up a magizine publisher there called, Lenswork...it is a truly marvelous photography book, though only B&W.
