    Padstow, Cornwall

    Hi All,

Just spent a few days down in Padstow on Rick Stein's seafood cookery course and managed to get some shots of the beautiful harbour down there.

I am quite pleased with the way they came out and as such didn't do a great deal with them in Photoshop, but as a rookie to the world of photography I'd really appreciate any C&C.

    Many thanks,

    Tom

    Hi Tommy,

I'm just not quite sure about the composition of the first one, I think the subject is a bit too central, but the other two are good.

None are bad and all have nice water and sky.

I'd be pleased to have taken them,

I like the first one most which probably means Dave is right. At first I couldn't understand f22 but I guess you wanted starry lights. It is a very long time since I was in Padstow, I stopped going when a jukebox was installed in the pub. It looks quite warm but it is freezing here, in da midlands.

Yeah I wanted as great a depth of field as possible and also I wanted long exposure times to smooth the water out as much as possible (although it was fairly calm) plus it was quite dark when I took them (#1 & #3 were shot about 20 or 30 mins after sunset and #2 was shot about 10 mins before sunrise - I just happened to be awake - must have had something to do with all the rich food I'd consumed during the previous 2 days! :P).

It's still a lovely place, although it has turned into Rick-Stein-Ville somewhat!
