I just got a new camera or two or three...

I feel like I've just gotten a new camera!
I added a Tech Art Pro adapter to my arsenal of weapons for shooting my legacy glass on my Sony cameras.
I'm happy as a pig in slop since every time I mount a different lens it's like starting up with a new camera.
Sorry, just had to tell someone, I can't stop grinning.

I always thought that it was "happy as a pig in s....", not slop which has the same number of letters.

That really hits (same letters, rearranged) home Ken, but this is a family site so I kept it clean.

In addition to the new TAP adapter, I treated myself to a new native Sony lens too. I've only been shooting legacy glass until now with my Nex-7 and A7ii.
Here is what the new 28mm can do on the AUTO setting MACRO mode (which the camera automatically turned on and let me know about with a little green MACRO on the screen.
    First the full shot:

I just got a new camera or two or three...

    Now a 100% crop:

I just got a new camera or two or three...

I think I'm going to enjoy the adventure this lens and adapter will take me on.

There are different types of equipment and some of them are truly transformative (despite that CiC's spell checker doesn't know transformative is a word). This equipment seems to be transformative and that is exactly what hobbies should be all about.

Mike, it totally surprised me when that MACRO showed up on the screen when I tried this. I was just trying to see how close it would focus. Never thought it would do this good. Kind of blew me away to tell you the truth. Is it going to make my Micro Nikkor jealous? It might!

Yes, the TAP is going to make using the old lenses a real treat now for sure. I won't be relying on my tired old eyes to hit the focus right now.

Not if that ruler is showing inches and if you are at minimum focusing distance. Assuming you have a full frame sensor, the image that fills the frame in landscape orientation at minimum focusing distance with a true macro lens will be very roughly 1 inch high x 1.4 inches wide. With a crop sensor, it's smaller yet. Your image is close to 7 inches high.

Tried the same with my Fuji plus OM1 lenses but found they lacked contrast. Might try again.
