It's only the second time I've seen one used, but the guy on the board owns the local kite boarding shop and loves to try out new toys. The biggest limitation I see with them is the inability to do major jumps like you can with a conventional board. That's the same issue while using a traditional surfboard. I wish the foil board could have gotten closer to shore but he was afraid he'd ground out and that could result in breaking him literally in half. Wind is up today with a cold front moving in so perhaps I can coax him to at least get closer to the pier so I can get some better close-ups.
