    Great Hounds

I found myself on what felt like a mile long stretch of booths filled with art, food, and other oddities. When will I learn that these type of venues bring out the worst in me, people seem to move in slow motion while I like to look and move along.

This booth caught my eye and I snapped the shot while on the move, I assume the pups are former racers, there is a website on the banner that I'll have to check out. This is also the area where I shot Lawyer's Lair

The place was the quaint little town of Lewiston, a few miles from Niagara Falls.

Our state government has just banned greyhound racing. Which will possibly result in the deaths of thousands of these dogs.

    Re: Great Hounds

Are these what we'd know as Greyhounds over here John? (e.g. in UK) and are they generically 'Greathounds' in the US, or is that just a name coined by the rescue organisation?

I appreciate the street genre of shooting, but I think I'd still take some steps to reduce the effect of visual distractions within the composition in PP, but not everyone will concur.

I could demonstrate if you wish.

Sad to hear, perhaps you can contact this organization; they may not be able to adopt the animals but might be able to bring more attention to the pups plight.

    Dave,

    Feel free to demonstrate.

This particular breed doesn't look like the typical greyhound; however I've only seen them with their mouths agape or with the mouth gear to prevent them from biting.

    A few subtle changes ...

    Great Hounds

Switch between them in the LyteBox with left and right arrows on your keyboard and play spot the difference

Bear in mind, the aim isn't to change the nature of the image.

This took five minutes, including a few false starts before I decided how best to tackle certain things (I'm out of practice).

    Cheers, Dave

Very subtle but I see the difference, nicely done.

John, a good shot for on the move. An interesting breed. I've only seen one or two in person.

I too notice the edit by Dave. As you say subtle but there.

Greyhounds make marvelous pets. IMO, the "sport" of greyhound racing leaves a lot to be desired.

I've only seen the sport on television/film and in photographs, those closeups make for an eerie composition.
