    Martin,

    Where is the 'doggie paddle'?
I've heard of it, but can't see one, despite this being the perfect opportunity for them to use it

As a consequence, the canines don't get much exercise, perhaps they have a walk on the beach before or after.

Of the two shots; #2 wins for the simpler composition.

    Cheers, Dave

Yeah the first one was taken at near maximum zoom across the channel to the far side to where the paddler was skirting the beach... the range made it tough to isolate the paddler/dog... I suppose I could have cropped the heck out of it. The second shot was easier to isolate the paddler... closer and a slightly better angle.

I like #2, nice composition and light. I also like the relationship between the dog and the owner, they seem to have a nice time together

What I understand from your comment is that you don't have a dog ( or may be a pet) yet Jean. If you have a dog one day ,you will feel that saving him / her is more important than anything This is the strong relationship which sometimes can't be set up among human beings.
