As you travel east further along the St Lawrence river the scenery gets wilder and the places more remote - gorgeous countryside. We spent the whole day on this 120kms jourrney, breaking for coffee in St Irénée, photographs at Port au Persil and a walk at Baie de Rochers. The day started bright but by lunchtime was decidely squally and the mist was swirling on the river, the light constantly changing.
Here are a selection to view and for C&C of course please
1
St Irénée pier, recently restored
2
A resting place
3
The very photogenic chapel at Port au Persil
4
The harbour at Baie Des Rochers - at low tide you can walk to the island on the left
5
La Rivière Baie des Rochers - raging after the rain
6
The rickety bridge - which we did cross for our walk
7
At the end of walk and as we reached the St Lawrence River this was the view. This is one of those places locals had advised us to visit and when we got there, we really found out why. There were no more than a dozen of us there that afternoon. You had to make an effort to get there....but it was so worth it.
Anse de Sable - A beautiful place to have a house, but only if you are immune to midges.
8 and 9
As the mist swirled, it created some lovely shots of the wildlife around
10
My favourite of the day - driftwood
