My Personal Challenge This Month: Look Down!!

I like to try to challenge myself with small personal "themes" when I am out fiddling with my camera I fancy myself of more of a wildlife/nature photographer, so I tend to look for those beautiful vistas and interesting odds and ends in the world around me. However, there are interesting images waiting, almost literally, right under my nose!
We went of a walk at our local Wetlands Nature Preserve and here are just a few of the interesting images I found!

1.
This is an image of a snail shell in the middle of the walk path.


2.
Tiny Wildflower. It is probably a weed of some sort, but I thought it looked beautiful. I love the "veins" of color that were in the petals.


3.
This is a small mushroom. It was only about 2 inches tall. The cracks in the cap caught my attention. I don't like my depth of field in this one. If I had had my tripod with me, I would have done some focus stacking to improve the DOF.

Good set...I agree with Mark's comment, but then I sometimes agree with his comments most of the time...what the heck?! but this time he some jewels to impart. Seriously, I am intrigue as to why you convert these to black and white...I am interested in seeing #1 in colour. So I will comment like this


#1 this looks nice and simple, but how does it looks in colour?

#2 Kinda cute...

#3 A little more blurring of the foreground seems to be in order here to emphasize more of the mushrooms. My eyes are drawn to the bright foreground.
