Oh Randy...these are all so beautiful.
#1 is very nice and colourful and all you need to do is lower the tone down of that bright thing at the top left hand side of the shot.
#2 will be nicer if you make this into a square crop. I have no problem with that yellow thing sticking at the right hand side but if you can remove it, will be nice as it sort of compete with the attention a bit. Easy fix.
#3 will be the same flower as #1 but in row. It is nice but I have a funny feeling it is laughing back at me and putting their tongue out to tease. If I would caption this, it will be "Another one bite the dust!"
#4 -- the bonus bird is very nice with the light of the sun lining the left side...now I cannot think of what it is called. I looked at your EXIF on all of them and noticed the metering stated "Others". What does that mean? Just curious.
Nice series, really like the bonus bird and edit/exposure/composition on second flower. 1st and 3rd are nice also, others just more appealing.
Not real sure why it states "Others" for metering. I likely used spot metering.
This shoot was a challenge. This show was very well attended, thus it was move forward a foot and wait, move forward a foot and wait. No tripods nor monopods were allowed. I shot most of these with a Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art on Nikon D750, toward the end of the shoot I switched to a Nikon 70-200 f/4.
The venue for the show was the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory/Como Zoo which deserves to be revisited at a time when there is much less traffic
I really like the light in the last image , very nice bird. IMO #2 is the best of the flower shots
I think #2 is a stunner. I agree with Izzie regarding that yellow 'thing'
Cheers Ole
Excellent images indeed.... the label in the second image is a bit distracting.... and that bird is from heaven.....
Nice to see the color.
