    Google Deep Dream

Apparently this software can turn images into something surreal, see:

(warning: some nudity in that site's posted examples) http://psychic-vr-lab.com/deepdream/

Here's one round using our vacation cabin from last year:

    Google Deep Dream

I don't particularly care for it, but it might be useful for greetings cards, etc.

It is said that images can be re-cycled again and again, getting more bizarre with each iteration.

Looks like a waste of perfectly good bandwidth.

Interesting conversion, objects take on new shapes the closer you view.

Looks kind of a creepy. Can't see ever using it.

It is interesting and sort of bizarre, but it will be a nice toy for some who is not involved in real photography? Just a thought...I googled Google Deep Dream...it is an app. I wonder how much control you have in the processing? Eerie and weird comes to mind.

Looks like more of a nightmare than a dream.

Fun, fascinating and an extra photographic tool. A series of linked images would make an interesting gallery exhibition, hopefully a real photographer will do such a thing.

In the mean time I had a try...

No control at all, Izzie, in the site that I used. You upload your pic into the cloud and let it get on with it. What you get is what the "app-in-the-clouds" sends back. Then you can send that back through again and again and again . .

It's code that Google developed for a movie and then they released it into the open world and several folks have put a GUI on it so people can use it from their own computer.

Mine came back 640x480px. The image I posted was 1280x853, IIRC. So, what I did it in the OP was up-size Lanczos and sharpen up a bit.

Love the idea of it. Then you have to control it. Still it is intriguing.
    Cheers Ole
