    Mt Pleasant Estate

I'm on a bit of an old abandoned building thing at the moment. Here are a few photo's of the Mt Pleasant Gatehouse
The Mt Pleasant estate itself was built between 1863-65 by a John Crookes

I love these! Lucky you! Are you still on vacation that you can wander off to look for old houses and sheds and stuffs to photograph or you look while you go to work? I am enjoying your series and corrections and addendums as usual...

Still on holiday? I should be so lucky.
No this building is only a couple of K's from home right in the middle of Launceston so I am able to drop in if I have a bit of spare time.
Apparently it has been sold to a guy from the Navy who has plans to restore it so I wanted to grab shots while I can and will be returning soon.
As I left the other day I noticed that the light had started to illuminate the front room through the fireplace you see in the third image.
Thought that might be worth exploring.
    Regards, Greg

This is a nice series of photos, Greg. I love the attention to detail that some of these old buildings have.

Your response reminded me of my first husband (who died almost 4 years ago now)...who is a good photographer. I regret very much that I did not learn from him. He will take a walk everyday and photograph those old houses that were about to be torn down. Then he will come back a few weeks later or when he sees it was already flattened and then photograph the series ... he revels in them at the time and look for more old structures ... everyday he does that...it gives him pleasure...I like it when I see his smiling face when he came home each day...
