Helpful Posts: It is not interesting but I went to extraordinary trouble, using Remask 3 to try an old fashioned HDR which wasn't brilliant and took a lot of effort where actually the very high contrast picture could just be done using Canon software.

Difficult capture well done. I would however get rid of the dark triangle at the upper image right (by either cropping or using the clone tool). Perhaps a tad bit of contrast might be in order also...

Hi Steve
In addition to Richard's comment , I would crop the image from the bottom just to eliminate the FG floor and I would fix the uneven edge of the carpet by cloning.

I didn't think it would turn out so I took a dark one with the intention of cutting out the chandelier to be pasted into a brighter image, but I couldn't get it right so I ortonised it. It was when I was playing with the Canon software I noticed I could just increase the exposure without blowing it.

Better...good responses so far...when I saw the first image, I was about to suggest that you selectively choose just the chairs and add contrast or saturation to them...or even just vibrance to pop them up a bit..simply because the chandelier already has that subtle look...the orangy chairs will then shine a bit more without globally saturating or adding contrast to the whole image. As it is right now, the chandelier looks harsher. Only my opinion...I like it both for different reasons.

Steve,
Your second image is very soft.
If I were to shoot this space in a 1PP which I suspect you were after I would have moved slightly left and down the stairs a touch.
This space has the potential to make an interesting and strong piece with its textures and lighting. If you get the comp right you will be on a winner
