    Red Clouds at Sunset

The composition for this picture was difficult due to the pilons in the water and lack of foreground interest. However, the warm, red color of the clouds begged me to take this shot.

Hi, beautiful shot, I agree some light just demands to be captured, I've had similar problems with foreground being quite dark.

my strategy was to go extreme and crop severely fropm each side and create a vertical panoramic concentrating ony on the middle area of the image.

Hi Paul - I think the composition's fine with the posts adding interest and direction to the sky. The horizon is placed roughly on a Golden Mean as is the RHS post. The colours in the sky have rendered well. Is it an illusion or is there a bit of curvature in the horizon? Easily corrected by a lens aberration tool if there is.

    Cheers

David, It was shot with the 17-40 wide angle so there is some barrel distortion going on. I got CS4 not too long ago and couldnt find the lens aberration tool.

Very good shot. I like the colours. Did you find the tool? It's FILTER/DISTORTION/LENS CORRECTION
