    US Agility Nationals, proud bystander

I just found out that my favorite client from canine agility is going to the US national competition. I've been photographing them since they started the sport. Many of you will recognize some of the photos of them.

Crystal and her female border collie, Riley.

Excellent, Dan. Not a weak one in the set. I'm not seeing the second image. It is saying, "Content protected by Owner".

Thanks, Donald. It should be fixed now. And thanks to everyone for the comments. I will let you know how she does. The competition is next month.

    Dear Dan,

Great job. Focus is spot on. Love the intensity of the dog and the joy of both.

I also remember Donald did some very nice agility images.

Super set Dan. The bright eyes in the third image are particularly appealing. Lovely stuff.

Great shots Dan - wonderful display of their partnership. I love all of them but especially the 4th; wonderful movement captured.

Indeed, excellent as always. My favourites are the 4th and 5th for capturing the moment so beautifully.

Thanks for all the comments, folks. Glad you enjoyed the images. Riley is super fast and a hard target to hit. She jumps really flat most of the time so doesn't take as many great jump shots. Plus tunnels and weaves are my favorite spots to shoot. She is actually injured right now and we have our fingers crossed that she will recover in time for the event next month.

That's what the D800E sensor is capable of doing. No AA and plenty of pixels. That shot was indoors under mercury lights w/out flash. Shot with D800E and 70-200 f2.8. I'm pretty sure that was shot wide open. You can see how flat the DOF is. I can't access the EXIF data right now or would post it.

Missed this set, but good shooting! It looks like there were some tough AF situations there handled well.

Thanks for the comments, everyone, and glad you enjoyed the photos. I started shooting the agility for the practice. Then it kind of took on a life of its own.

Tremendous series, my favourite being the weaving between the slalom poles/flags/gates... You know what I mean, funny they get called different things for different sports.
