    Bought it, tried it and never really used it. I can accomplish the same type of stuff with Photoshop; effectively it has a few bells and whistles that Photoshop doesn't have (and the reverse can be said too).

    I would suggest having one or the other, but having both is rather redundant.

    Very interesting but, unless it will be a total substitute for Photoshop, it seems pretty expensive...

    You could use it to replace Photoshop, minus the RAW converter. In reality, it is more targeted at the graphic arts community.

    Corel has been in the business for a long time, but they stumbled a few times and don't have a huge market share. What they have is quite loyal. In its time Corel Draw was the vector based graphics software to use.

    I worked with Painter long time ago and it had pretty cool painting tools. You can add a canvas texture and there are many types of brushes, like crayons and pencils, that react to the canvas, so you can paint with textures.
    It was nice playing with Painter, but I am not an artist myself, so I went back to GIMP.
