    Crocus time

It's 23 degrees below zero outside, spring inside.

Just don't let it get it in the picture as I did here or you will be spending too much time in PP.

I guess then my cover-up job is not too visible? Thanks for your comments, John and Marie.

Janis...I like this one too but I think it will benefit from a much closer crop to the right hand side better showing only a minimum of greens. Just a thought...I am learning more from you, so what do I know...

I will construct my own lightpad tomorrow after a visit to Mr. Lowes or Mr. Home D. Also might take a peek at Hobby Lobby near Lowes to see if lightpad is worth less to buy than construct one from scratch.

A bit of sunshine on a Winter's day. Can't be bad. Nice shot. No obvious sign of your PP here. -23 degrees! It's -1 here. That must feel warm to you.

    Re: Crocus time

John, if it were -1 here, I would be shooting outdoors -- in shirtsleeves! (That's how much we acclimatize up here.)

Izzie, I was framing to get the bud in the shot, but grant you it is not my best composition. I would have done more to separate the bud from the background but for that blasted highlight that has complicated things.

Thanks for your comments, and yours, Nandakumur.

A very nice image. I like the degree of blur in the background.

My one concern is that I think it's too close a crop on the left. I assume you wanted this off-center, but but the angle of the stamen and anthers makes the left seem like the 'front,' as if they are looking that way, so I think it would be better with more space there.

Thanks, Dan; I think you are right. I was moving quickly to catch the sunlight while it was there and did not take enough care to get the right perspective for what I wanted to do, i.e., get both bud and boom in the frame. One good frame is better than a dozen poor ones.
