You could consider cropping off most of the snow bank at the bottom. Would it make it more balanced? Welcome to Cambridge in colour I hope you find it as useful as I do.

+1 to Andrew's comment here...Nothing much to contribute to the foreground but crop a bit of it for balance. I am also one who do not like smooth waters here. It would have been good to see the reflections more than smooth water. Just my opinion...

And by the way, if you click the Profile button at the right hand side, you can fill up your details like your nickname in place of Real Name and also where you are located just in case you need help with some post that will fill your need around your area.

Like the other comments mention, I would crop away the bottom and use a different size ratio.

The illumination was from the moon and it was a 25s exposure so no choice on the water?

I have just bought a Canon 70d and a new tripod so can't wait to try it out.

Eeerm..how do I rotate the image below. It's upright on my computer but upload put's it sideways?

It should upload without problems but you may have to resize to the upload max size, or smaller.

I like the winter night landscape. I'm curious what ISO you were using, because I have heard of the G15 that you can't use very slow shutter speeds on high ISOs, but maybe the G16 is different.
