I'd like to say that Sangyu's image is an especially special bird image to me because of the unique composition, and how all the elements in the image kept my eye in the image. I don't think I've seen a nature image featuring a bird like this ever before... Truly inspiring!

Thanks to everyone who entered, commented and voted, I've been trying to win a monthly comp for a long time. I remember when I first found this site and was in awe of all the great images and now to have won and placed in the top three before I am truly honored!
