    Ancient technology in everyday use

I just had to stop and take a picture of this rather ancient looking flat iron that is powered by charcoal that I spotted wandering through the back alleys of Delhi. It looks like it is almost ready to use; one can see the red glow of the coals that are heating it up.

Up until I spotted this, any similar irons I saw were in museum collections...

Nicely captured, well presented and no instructions needed; perhaps a few safety warnings.

Tis rather doubtful that the user ever heard of OSHA.

If it works, don't mend it. Fascinating.

Nice shot It is suprising to see that they still use those irons.
