Using canned gas runs the risk of spreading shutter oil about. If you have the old type which only gives a low pressure flow of gas rather than a blast you can use that in short puffs. I have a can I keep for the purpose, over 20 years old with angled jets which keep the can upright.
Using the dust delete image is really only a temporary remedy for use in the field. You will lose image quality and of course you have to develop raw files using canons software. If you shoot jpeg only ok, otherwise clean sooner rather than later.

If you have a new camera with oil on sensor get it serviced my the manufacturer, it is their problem to solve, eg. the Nikon D600 problem. Canon had the same issue with the original 5D.

There two sure things that everyone will face: death and a dirty sensor!

Most if use had to face up to birth as well but one day there might be some manufactured people about especially designed to believe politicians, work until they are 80+, die soon after and live on grass. I seem to be in a funny mood today.

Then you will be warning me. I don't think we differ that much.

Don't take it personal. Both your and mine post are a shot into an open goal.

    Hi Kathe,

    What is the trick?
If you have only one camera,
how did you take this photo of your sensor??? ;-)

Normally that should be a "long" exposure with the smallest aperture of a white plane, a wall. When I do it, I also move the camera a little. The smaller the aperture, the sharper the dust will be visible.

Shooting the sky at f/22 is the norm or if you cant go outside your monitor with a white screen.

This was one of my French Canadian jokes to welcome Kathe to the forum!
Anyway, though my joke was not yet answered by Kathe, I thank you both

Sorry, I missed the joke - English is not my first language, so written irony sometimes go over my head. Besides, I don't spend time on the internet everyday....;-)
