    Wood Duck

I visted Ottawa/Gatineau this past weekend and went on a couple of hikes. I found my first wood duck of the year. Unfortunately the duck was quite a distance away so the shots are not as clear as I would like. They are also heavily cropped. I was using my friends Canon 75-300mm which is a decent lens but seems to suffer a great deal from chromatic aberration. I toned down the purple to try to deal with that.
The shots were not sharp at all so I attempted to sharpen them a bit. I'm still not very good at it but I think it's better than nothing.

Thanks John and Isabel! While these aren't the best shots technically, I do really like the subject and story of them. I took many other shots that were much clearer than these but these still ended up being some of my favourites.

    Hi Kyle,

#2 I like the story of the ducks coming together.

#3 You captured the colours on the duck beautifully. I also like the overall mood/tones on the 1st half of the image as seen by moving the image around in the lightbox (cropping in half) so it is all about the male wood duck.

Hi Kyle, I especially like #3 and #4 with better compositions. When I first saw a male wood duck in one of the threads of CIC, I thought it wasn't real and it was just a toy I didn't know it had so nice shape and colours at all

Thanks for the comments Christina and Binnur.
I actually didn't notice that the other duck in the shots was a wood duck, I was so excited about seeing a male wood duck (I love their colours) I didn't really look at the female. I thought she was just a mallard.
