I think they are pretty good for manual focus, handheld. I had a 2X extender on my 70-300mm lens. I didn't do any noise reduction because it smoothed out the texture of their fur and the grass, just a bit of sharpening.

I love all of them. They are all pretty shots but #1 I like the tail's backlighting of the sun. Nice story...Our squirrels here runs so fast on top of the fence because they are scared of our dogs barking at them...so one by one they would scamper along the fence and to their nests up the trees.
