    Just playing around

B&W, definitely, is not my genre. I decided to spice up my usual bird-on-a-twig with a Donald inspired treatment. It helps that there wasn't a whole lot of color to begin with

It works as a composition of lines and patterns.

+1 on Johns' comments, the composition is really nice and the black and white works well

    Hi Randy.

The image looks a bit soft to me. I would like to have seen the bird's eye and more details in the feathers. I do think the B&W treatment works well, especially when there is not much color to start with. Then you can emphasize the tones and shapes.

You are correct of course, Ken, the shot is quite soft. I always have a problem with capturing a little glitter in the eyes from my blind, aka office window; it faces due south. At this latitude the sun is always in the south and thus I rarely am able to get the glitter. Couple that with a tiny black eye with a black mask...........well you get the picture. Perhaps once the temps rise and the snow melts, I will emerge from my cozy sanctuary and start shooting from the other side of the tree
