    Looking for shoulder mount system

    Hi everyone,
I am brand new in this forum. I'm getting into video with my Canon 5d and was looking for a few tips or suggestions. I'd like a shoulder mount system to help with smooth handheld shots. It looks like Filmcity has a decent one, but are there other, maybe better options in the same price range? One of my friends suggested me
    Video Camera Shoulder Kit FC-20
Video Camera Mount Kit FC-50 (HG)
Filmcity video camera shoulder mount kit (FC-105)
Additionally, I'd like a mount for use in car. I presume it would somehow mount on the dash board or passenger side window. I'm leaning towards Camtree, does anyone know of better options around the same price?
    DSLR Suction Cup Mount (C-DSLR-SM)
Gripper G-51 Campod Car Suction Mount (G-51-S)
    CAMTREE DSLR Suction Mount (C-DSLR-SM-B)
I think these two items will provide great shots, if someone has other suggestions for items I should look into, please let me know!
    Thanks in advance

This is primarily a still photography site, so there are not that many video shooters here. You should have better luck on a site that is aimed at video. I suggest http://www.DVXuser.com might be a better place to start.

I do shoot a fair bit of video and have never found anything that works better than a proper video tripod and a decent fluid head; but then I also use a dedicated video camera for my work.

I just had a look at the site you linked to. I have never seen anything nearly this cheap from the companies I would buy from; Zacuto, Cavision, Redrock, etc. The whole rig looks rather flimsy; hard to see for sure until you look at the matte box.

NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) caters to the professional market and the high-end semi-pro market, not the amateur market.

I am a stills guy too, although I do have a Delkin Fat Gecko for shooting from vehicles or for mounting the camera in awkward places and radio triggering. When I was invited to try and break the seal, I lifted the table up instead!

Neat product, does what it says.

Even had it securely stick to smooth painted doors, although glass/metal is best. And the D3/70-200 combination is quite heavy too.

Have you ever tried to shoot video from a moving car? If so, you would want to use something like one of these.

I personally worry (perhaps needlessly) that the gear will fall off. I've used a Manfrotto window mounting bracket with a ball head and quiick release plate for this kind of shooting, but the suction cups definitely give you better positioning options.

I must admit it worried me at first, and only do it off public roads, with a separate driver. We use it at low speeds otherwise the bugs can't manage to avoid flattening themselves against the filter!

But it is rock solid, the bumps don't seem to bother it...... It needs to be solid with Pro kit mounted on it! (The 14-24mm gives some interesting shots pointing back at the car, especially as it can't take a conventional filter).

Re: Looking for shoulder mount system

When I bought a Canon EOS 5D Mark III at the beginning of 2013, I quickly realized I was going to need some sort of mounting rig, as well as handheld support. DSLR cameras are simply not designed to move the way traditional video cameras do, and the controls, especially camera start/stop, are inconvenient at best. So a rail and cage system for mounting accessories, as well as a shoulder mount that facilitates handheld shooting are pretty much necessities if you’re using it as your “A” camera on shoots. So i bought "PROAIM KIT-3(E)".
It is the best designed shoulder mount stabilizer available today for fatigue free shooting.
