    Triumphal?

This is a remnant of the Victoria Bridge across the Brisbane River that was destroyed in the 1974 floods.

Last night was my first ever night photography session. C&C please.

I like your subject and the way that you processed the image...not to shabby for the first time.
The colors on the bridge are great...the cloudy sky however leaves a lot to be desired.
Boost the contrast a bit but don't blow the darks and lights.

I agree about the blockwork. Wonderful detail and clarity. I was wondering, William, what you thought wasn't so good about the sky? I thought it worked well and served as an excellent contrast to the detailed built structure.

The color is great in the sky...I just would have wanted a break in the cloud cover as shown in the LL corner.

Nicely done Tony. This works well I think. I've often thought about getting a shot of this but never got around to it. I won't bother now because I don't think I could match this !

I think the cloud adds to the image. Is it cloud though or smoke from fireworks ?

    Re: Triumphal?

    Thanks for all the comments.

Chauncey, no matter how hard I blew I could not get the clouds to part.

Dave, you probably realise that I had to do some intricate editing to get rid of the horrible white fence in front. There were no fireworks that night.

What I would like to do in the future is find a scene like this (but facing in a different direction) and, starting late in the afternoon, take a picture say every 10 minutes until later in the evening. If there is a moon, even better.
