You know Steve, I have seen a lot of Hummer images. I have a calendar for this year that features them even.

But I can say with all honesty that I have never seen Hummers photographed as well as you photograph them.

    This year's batch is stunning.

Steve, Thank you for sharing your wonderful photographs of hummingbirds. I have 2 feeders on my front porch, and just captured my first hummingbird picture. Not as good as yours, but a decent start.

    Hummingbird #13

They come and eat when I am on the porch reading, so it was easy to set the camera up on the tripod, aim it, and hold the wired remote in my hand while seemingly ignoring them! It is exciting to hear the bumble-bee sound their wings make, and have them come so close. I do think the sound of the shutter startled the one I photographed, hopefully they will come back next time I set up.

Paul S mentioned a tutorial you posted. I would enjoy reading it, if you would tell me where to find it.

Thank you terry, I really appreciate it. Every year, I learn a little more. Can't wait to try some new things next year.

    Thank you christina.

It's a great start susan. Hummingbirds are a very challenging subject. You can read the tutorial here......How I Photograph Hummingbirds
