    Pavement Conference

I was sat on a bench pausing for breath when this business group came and stood in front of me to wait for a Taxi. The guy in the distance was a bonus so I grabbed the shot. Processed to lift some of the shadows (suits) and to eliminate some highlights on the background building. Deliberately left it on the slant to add a dynamic but.... Comments very welcome.

Great shot John. This is one of those images that leaps out at you and says something. I won't try and describe what it says for me - it just works.

Very nice. The guy in suit with hands in pocket seems to command the conference.

Brilliant. Superb example of this type of photography. Magnificent choice in terms the composition - only lower parts of bodies on show.

    Hi John,

I like it too - for me it is that they are standing around that manhole cover that makes it work, but there are many other things that contribute, the distant bloke being one of them.

    Cheers,

John, Donald, Dave, thanks all for your comments. Dave, I can lay claim to the figure in the distance. I saw him approaching but the rest was just good fortune.

Great great shot - your distant figure appears to have all the attention from the others - well grabbed.

Thank you Kaye. Actually, they seemed to be continuing a fairly heated meeting they had just left but it was all in Spanish so I could be wrong.

Great photo with superb tonal rang and contrast without any loss of detail in shadows or highlights.

Excellent image, John. I love the contrast between the 'suits' and the dude. The creases in the suits fabric emphasises the difference between their apparently stressed situation and the relaxed demeanour of the guy chilling in the background.

Thanks Phil. I should take a leaf out of your book and get out there (the street) a bit more. I tend to lean towards countryside and coast.

Thanks LP, thanks Greg, thanks Adrian.
