Notre Dame de Mt Carmel - Prince Edward Island

I did get one good day of shooting in during my aborted trip to the Maritime Provinces.

Normally in photography, we strive to represent a three-dimensional object in a way that is still appears to have depth in spite of being displayed two dimensionally. Here, I've tried to do the opposite; I've taken a three dimensional set of objects and shot them in a way to flatten them into a two-D perspective.

The subject is the Notre Dame de Mt Carmel church on the south-west coast of Prince Edward Island and is located not far from shore. There are three objects here; the church gate, a statue about half way between the gate and the church, and the church itself.

I prefer the B&W image (I've applied a slight white vignette around it). I find the colour version a bit too "picture postcard" like, bit it works as well..

Very nice, I like both versions.

It seems to have worked pretty well, Manfred. I prefer the B&W. The horizon seems to me to have a slight tilt to the right.

Good catch. I missed that and correcting the chromatic aberration in post. Must have been tired working on it.
