Blackbacked Jackal

After the second shower of rain in a week there was a bit of water lying about. This Jackal quenched its thirst at a small puddle by the roadside. A few days later these small collections of water were gone.

I am not going to say much. Your Cheetah shot was excellent, now I am comparing the Jackal to the Cheetah shot.
You should know what makes the big difference – the light and time of day.

This is a very nice capture, an image any tourist will be proud of. For you – it is no longer good enough. You got the Cheetah, you can get the Jackal as well. You can do it.

Looks much like our coyote in North America though the ears look much larger.

I'm of the same mind as Andre. In my experience though cheetahs are more likely to hang around than jackals, so a tough assignment

Hi Dave, agreed. Andre is right though I have to get out of the "good tourist photograph" bracket. A challenge indeed.
