    Not something you see every day on the Grand Canal:

    Repairing foundations must be tricky at the best of times, let alone in a city with no streets for access. Add in the limited time before the concrete spoils and you have a logistical challenge.

    Interesting picture. You seem to have got lost as there are not any bearded men in robes to be seen at all. Must be a bit of a nightmare doing construction work in Venice.

    Phil...
    Neat image! I have never considered he need for a cement truck to be transported on a barge. However it makes sense and I will try to get unusual shots like this when my wife and I visit Venice in June of this year! I have already placed police and fire boats on my list of hopeful shots!
