    Backlit Meconopsis

I took this photo a few years ago, processed it and was happy with it at the time. Taken in our garden, with the sun as natural backlight.
Now I wanted to post it and it seemed a bit too bright compared to what I had in my mind, so I reworked it...again.
It is all to personal taste off course, but right now, I am a bit in doubt which is the better off the two.

    C&C welcomed.
    Taken with canon50D, 100mm macro, f16, 1/400, iso200.

I think it's great to revisit important images, especially when our post-processing skills and vision has changed since working with the original photo.

I'd like to suggest another variation: Consider using the overall brightness of the second photo and the brightness of the stamens and pistil of the first photo.

    Really appreciate your input Mike,
Before posting I had done a few reworks, but something was still missing. It seems so easy when you say it...
Here is the rework, maybe still a tad too bright in the center...

I agree that the last version might be too bright in the center area that you changed but perhaps I would change my mind after living with it for awhile.
