Went out

Very stale from sitting out the longest cold/flu from mid-Nov to mid-Dec. Probably no loss as the weather was drippy like me.

Finally a reasonable day came up weather-wise so went out for a bit to catch some birds.

Alas no birds not even one! What else to do but turn attention to whatever was around.

Slapped on the macro and came up with these.

I like the last one. I get the serene feel of the place when looking at the photo.

Bobo, you should do more of this type of work. These are quite interesting and have a nice feel due to the focus and light. Looks to me a good substitute while waiting for those birds that seem to be evading your area.

These are all good but I particularly like #1 & #4. #1 because the colors are pleasing and because you've done a great job of making an interesting photo out of curling, dying leaves. #4 because I love the composition and the execution. I've taken several photos of cattails and have never been happy with the compositions. This one is really nice.

The birds are around - either they have de-friended me or are sheltering from the weather. Outside conditions are not all that friendly at the moment.

The first one also stands out for me. I really like that the coloration of the main leaf makes it look almost as if there is a leaf within a leaf.

In the last one, if you could blur the stuff along the left side of the frame, that photo might become my favorite.

Surely you know that the reason the birds didn't want to come near you while you're still dealing with that cold is that they haven't gotten their flu shot.

Birds ? Nah can't be. They probably de-friended me due to the long absence.

Flu is over though NA seems to be in an epidemic of sorts. Hopefully it will stay away from everyone around me.
