    South Rim, Grand Canyon

This is one of my first clicks outdoors using the Canon 50mm f1.8 lens. It's a pretty simple shot and having taken in the afternoon I couldn't avoid the bright light. I like the fine details of the contour in the photograph. Looking forward to C&C

Hello Teja. I can now see the image.

By the way, so that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.

It is quite bright, but it's not as if you were forced into taking it at mid-day when there would have been very little or no shadow. At least you have some shadow here that help give definition and shape.

The Exif data is not posted with the image, so we can't see your shooting information. I wonder if it is perhaps a bit soft and could use a little sharpening. I'd be interested to read what others say. Also, if you wished, you could also introduce some Local Contrast Enhancement (LCE) to make it 'pop' a little more, although I'm not sure it needs very much, if any.

    A good image.

I am not sure why Pinaki is unable to view the picture. Can someone help.

Thanks Donald. LCE sounds very interesting. I didn't know about such a thing before. I will try using it and see if it enhances the image. I am sorry for the missed Exif data. Being a newbie I quite often miss out essential info. I will make sure to post them from here on

I don't see anything either. When I quote to OP I can see this - https://www.cambridgeincolour.com/fo...7&d=1355217759 - but with the IMG tags around it.

Edit -Originally I kept the tags but then I couldn't see it in my post.

It's a bit confusing because I am able to see it. Donald could see the image too I have uploaded the image into my albums and copied the "BB Code" in here. I just re-did the process again and have include the URL for the image too. Is it visible now

Now I can see it. Looks good too. I agree with Donald, a little LCE can help this sort of image. Also you might consider moving the mid-tone slider on the Levels adjustment a bit to the right (say to about 0.9) - this will give a bit more richness to the image.

Thanks Dave. Thanks Andrew. I am mid-way trying out LCE.
