Very nice set of shots Pat.

I like the golden colours in #1. I like the composition in #2, it looks like the guy is heading off towards that lovely sky. #3 has some interesting light with the mottled rays coming through. I wonder if you could enhance that effect with a bit more contrast (maybe the mid-tone slider in Levels and or some Local Contrast Enhancement using a small amount of Unsharp mask with a large radius - say 250)

    Hi Dave,
Thank you for your comments, it began as a very frosty morning and there were wisps of fog flowing across the sea, which I tried to capture in image #3, an unsharp mask of 10% and radius of 250 has been applied, maybe a bit more wouldn't go a miss,

Pat - For me that edging on the boardwalk in #2 doesn't help the composition. I find it too dominant and overpowering.

But as for the other two. Well, as they say, it's all about the light. The light on the edge of the breaking wave in and on the pebbles on the beach #3 and the golden light that spreads across #1 - Just marvellous.

    Hi Donald,
I see what you mean about the edging on the boardwalk it is a bit dominant, maybe a crop to remove the edge at the bottom of the image, in image #3 what do you think about the wisps of fog, would someone viewing the image recognise them as such,

Breathtaking light and well worth getting up early for Pat. A crop to the bottom of the second shot would really make it and i think it would look stunning in mono too. There's a wee bit on the top left corner that isn't consistent but it's easily gone.

As for your wisps of fog..am not sure I would have thought of them as that in particular but they are really in keeping with the light and mood, even if you don't know what they are.

    Great stuff.

I like your shot #1 mostly, no offence.
