    Image 2745 again

It is really hard for me to fathom what people like; I go for colour personally but I've downloaded a B+w conversion program and converted this to WWII style. Is it alright.

Yes it is. It very alright.

But the most important thing, Steve is that you like it. If the rest of us like it, that's bonus.

I think you've got a wonderful composition here and the B & W works wonderfully well.

I think people like this for a few reasons Steve. The composition draws you to the train and then there are other interesting parts and nothing diverts your eye straight out of the frame. The man almost covered in the steam is mysterious and becomes fairly interesting. Besides people just love these old trains, so the subject has a great draw.
While I like the conversion great, I likely would have went a different conversion direction but that is completely down to individual interpritation. Well done.

    Dang Donald you are quick!

    Steve,
    I love it.
I can see nothing in the frame that would make me think it was not taken in the 1940's.
    Well done.

Thanks Donald, Paul, John and Mark. This is the original for which works with a 19" x 13" print but I noticed B+W looks even better sometimes and maybe also in this case as 10" x 8".

Steve, the color version is also a beauty.

I also like them both but I do think the B&W conversion you did is the best. Great composition!

Thanks Sergio; I think the B+W has something, don't know what but it seems to be moving.

I like both but at first, sepia colour should be good for its... classicism.
