    A beautiful blue Wren

A trip to the Organ Pipes National Park today produced some beautiful landscape shots (still working my way through) as well as this beautiful creature (pretty sure its a wren, just not sure which one). Its just a pity I don't have a more powerful zoom lens as it was quite a distance away, although you can tell by scaling it against the tree it was tiny.

    Hi Soozie,

I like your pic of this little fellow. I like the context, every shot doesn't have to be a close-up. Was he looking out for his Jennies?
They move about so fast, darting here and there. I haven't been able to photograph one ever.

Even so, you got a nice detailed image that clearly shows to context of the situation and the diagonal lines clearly bring the eye directly to the Wren. Nicely done Soozie!

    Soozie,

Great image... shows the bird in its own environment with great DOF.

    Hi Graham

Better than that, he was bringing her gifts. What a clever little provider he was

What a cool little bird Soozie. Color wise he looks similar to a Black throated Blue wood warbler. Shape wise he certainly looks like a Wren with that tail. I wish I could help but am not so up on my birds from across the pond. Love the pose in #1 and it is nice you caught him feeding her as well.

    Hi Paul,

Mr Wikipedia has informed me this little fellow is a Superb Fairy Wren. He is indeed superb, so I'll accept and go with that name :-)
