Hot off the press from a walkabout today. Man, it was hot!!!

hi Phil,
I can't contribute much on technical merit, but to me his is a great composition. Everything appears nice and sharp , and looks great in B&W with so many shades. However what really appeals to me is the regularity of everything in the scene - looking from the bricks, over the grate, the door mat, through the door beneath the windows and sign, past the hanging mats(?), and all nicely framed by the light poles(?) - this is rectangle heaven! (no prizes, but try to guess my star sign). Then, just to balance it with a bit of chaos, theres the bicycle wheel and triangular frame.

As soon as I came across the shop I knew I had to grab the shot. As usual with this area of town there's so much disorder which makes for an interesting image. The porter with his pose was the icing on the cake but I just had to wait for other human traffic to clear.
