    Hi Bruce,

    That's good, now you have used TinyPic, I can see the EXIF data (not visible from an attachment).

    Nikon D300, 38mm, 1/60s, f/9, iso 200, Flash fired, compulsory flash mode, return light detected.

    It seems a different choice of focal length from the norm for a portrait and the subject is very close to a contrasty and textured background which distracts my attention.

    That said, it isn't unduly distorted from the close viewpoint and the pose and expression are good too.

    For general advice on portraiure, have you seen Colin's series?

    Dave: The 38 mm focal length was due to the fact that this lady's husband was included in the original photo.
    The pic you see is one where he was cropped out. Thanks for your comments. Bruce
