I take similar shots whenever possible but have never been happy with any of them. Cool to look at just a pic when the intial "wow that looks good" passes. Maybe it was the angle, perspective, subject matter or whatever but... Definitely a very difficult kind of shot for me to pull off.
Your looks fine though, at least you have a shark like object to give the pic some interest.

I've never achieved a similar results in that conditions...
have you tried a slightly more underexposed version? it should let the colours pop up a bit more...
