    Now I understand a bit more about why the pics you guys make are so great - a vivid imagination!

    There is a reason for the belligerent behaviour - the ducks had encroached onto the area where the pair of swans had a nest with eggs. Unfortunately the eggs did not hatch so hopefully they will try again this year.

    Later observing the ducks / swans in the pond it appears that the swans absolutely do not like the ducks and chase them around quite a bit.
